Ryan Farquhar, MPH

Ryan Farquhar is an Adjunct Lecture of Nutrition and Dietetics at SFSU. Coming from a former foster background, he is passionate about community health and prevention. Before coming to SFSU, Ryan completed his BS in Physiology and Metabolism, BS in Molecular Environmental Biology, MPH in Public Health Nutrition, and Dietetic Internship at UC Berkeley. Ryan is a supporter of basic needs initiatives rooted in justice and healing efforts and focuses research and evaluation efforts in these areas. Beyond teaching and research efforts, Ryan works as a consultant on projects focused on Food as Medicine initiatives to expand accessible nutrition care. Some of my projects as include how to use technology to both improve community access to resources and to support programs in improving their care models. In his free time, Ryan enjoys hobbies of cooking, nature, drawing, reading visual novels, and playing video games.
