Jami Baltz, M.S., RD-AP, CNSC
Jami Baltz has been teaching at SF State since 2019. She received her B.S. in Nutrition Science and Dietetics from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and her M.S. in Clinical Nutrition from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey-New Brunswick. Jami has extensive experience in clinical nutrition, including being a dedicated dietetic intern preceptor in the Bay Area. She is currently an Advanced Practice Dietitian at Stanford Healthcare’s Palo Alto Cancer Center, and actively involved in the care of a diverse group of oncology patients and several quality improvement projects. Previously, she has been a clinical inpatient dietitian at Stanford Healthcare, Kaiser San Francisco, and San Francisco General Hospital, and an account manager for Nestle Healthcare Nutrition. Her areas of interest include oncology nutrition, critical care, enteral and parenteral nutrition support, surgical nutrition, and nutrient metabolism.
Jami currently teaches the Seminar in Medical Nutrition Therapy for the internship as well as advanced nutrition courses for our undergraduate dietetics program. She is passionate about supporting our interns in transitioning from learning about clinical nutrition in textbooks to applying that knowledge in their clinical rotations. She loves combining her professional experience and broad knowledge base to guide and foster the growth and development of our interns in the art and science of medical nutrition therapy care for patients and clients.
In her spare time, Jami enjoys spending time at the beach with her husband, trying new foods, and relaxing with her cats, Bebop and Hiro.
